BRIDGES

Cambie St. Constructors and SNC Lavalin were awarded the Cambie Street portion of Translink’s Canada Line Rapid Transit Project.
The project, starting at the foot of Cambie Street and Southwest Marine Drive and ending just south of the Cambie Street Bridge, was constructed using a cut and cover excavation method. Surespan was contracted by Cambie St.

Constructors (A division of Tyam) to design, supply and erect both steel girder and precast concrete box beam bridges that were to be installed at intersections to keep vehicle and pedestrian traffic flowing for the project’s duration.

QR Engineering provided design, and other structural engineering services for each bridge to be installed along the Cambie Street corridor.

QR Engineering was able to design structures that could be reused at other crossings, forwarding considerable value on to the client.
